List of Famous Female Volleyball Players:- The women’s volleyball tournament at Summer Olympics started in the 1968 Tokyo Olympics in the second edition of volleyball after their debut.

The participation rate of women in the Olympics has been increasing since their first appearance in 1900. The first gold was won by the Japanese women’s team in the inaugural women’s volleyball competition in 1968. The first woman to win gold both as a player and a coach is Lang Ping of China who also led the United States women’s team to the silver medal in the 2008 Olympics.

Helia competed in five consecutive Summer Olympics for her country and won gold and 2 bronze medallist in the Olympics of 2008 Beijing and 1996 Atlanta and 2000 Sydney. Souza played her last match at the FIVB world club championship and announced her retirement at the age of 45.
